Bell Work: Do you know these logos? Click here.

Take 8 minutes and see how many you get. Winner gets something.

The next two days will include a marvelous opportunity to create a new logo for Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Harley-Davidson Unit Project Guidelines
Project Overview:
            Harley-Davidson Motor Company.
The average Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider is in his/her middle age or older and has a full time career or full time job.  Harley-Davidson would like to appeal more to younger generations (20 – 30 year olds).  Your assignment is to create a marketing strategy to accomplish this goal.  Specifically, you need to do the following:
·                    Research what products Harley-Davidson currently offers to customers.
·        Discuss, in your own words, why middle-aged consumers are the major source of revenue for Harley-Davidson.
·        Discuss, in three paragraphs, how you would market Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories to a younger market.  (Think about price range, design, style, accessories, clothing, etc)
·        Create a new logo and slogan for Harley-Davidson Motor Company.
·        Create one print ad promoting Harley-Davidson to a younger audience.

Wednesday

  • Bell Work: Have you ever gone to a store and the salesperson showed you a product, mentioned a feature or two, and never told you what the benefit was? [For example: if you looked at a flat screen TV and the salesperson said “This Sony model has LED display.” You might think, “So what? What does that do for me?”] Give an example.
  • PowerPoint Presentation.

Tuesday at BMHS

Bell Work: What is the difference between a feature and a benefit?
Do all products have both?

Today we will work in pairs to complete the product/feature/benefit handout. After this timed exercise, we will exchange our lists with another team and allow them to comment on our lists. Next, we will create a seven-slide PowerPoint (it's OK to do more) that includes the following:
  • The Product we Choose
  • Two Features of that product--in bullet list
  • Two Benefits of each Feature--in bullet list
  • Two Questions we would ask a potential customer if we were trying to sell him our product.
  • A common template for PowerPoint
  • Transitions between slides
  • Animation on slides
  • Clip art, logos, or pictures on all slides.
