Intro to Biz, Thursday 10 February

Good Morning, Awesome students.

I'm sorry that we fell a little bit behind on Wednesday. There were many adjustments that had to be made due to this new format.

Our objectives today are:

  • Differentiate the six types of businesses
  • Describe the five functions of business
  • Discuss how the five functions of business relate to each other.
That's a lot. We will have a handout on Chapter 6.2. (Next week I hope to have your handouts on the computer.)
There will be a PowerPoint Presentation that we will all watch.
Bell Work:  There are six types of businesses. (Note: this is different from the three major types of business organizations.)
They are:
  1. Producers
  2. Processors
  3. Manufacturers
  4. Wholesalers and Intermediaries
  5. Retailers
  6. Services
Pick two of these types and list a company that falls under that category. For example, Bell Copper Company in Miami, AZ is a producer. They take raw material from the ground.

As mentioned, you can do your bell work on paper and turn them in on Fridays, or you can click on the "Mr. Burd" link below and e-mail me. A student's project is below. Thanks, Lauren.

Thank you,
